Fairfax County police have charged a Centreville man – who’s also employed by the county’s Department of Family Services – with rape. The 35-year-old man is charged in the alleged incident that occurred last Wednesday, June 28.
According to police, the victim met the suspect that night at a restaurant outside Fairfax County. Prior to then, they didn’t know each other. Afterward, they went to the victim’s house in the Mount Vernon Police District. There, say police, the suspect allegedly sexually assaulted and raped the victim.
The rape was reported to police Saturday, July 1, and detectives from the Major Crimes Bureau obtained a warrant charging the suspect with rape and two counts of sodomy. He was taken into custody Sunday morning, July 2, by officers from the Sully District Police Station.
He’s currently being held without bond at the Adult Detention Center. Detectives learned the suspect is an employee of the county’s Department of Family Services as a Human Services Assistant.
