Nayani Reddy, a fifth-grade student from Colin Powell Elementary, recited her winning essay for the annual DAR Lane’s Mill Chapter American History Essay contest on Feb. 4, 2023. Nayani’s essay imagined herself to be a delegate at the Second Continental Congress of 1775, which was instrumental in forming the United States of America.
